As summer approaches, Amsterdam comes alive with family-friendly festivals, creative workshops, nature activities, and community events. Whether you’re looking to explore somewhere new or simply enjoy quality time together, we’ve rounded up some of the best activities to help you make the most of the weekends ahead.
Events Happening This Weekend
Wereldoceaandagen The Earth is made up of more than 70% ocean. Sea and water play an important role in the climate, food supply and biodiversity. Oceans produce more than half of the oxygen we breathe, regulate the climate by storing heat, and provide a home to millions of species of plants and animals. Yet, they are threatened by pollution, overfishing, climate change and plastic waste. During the World Ocean Days, these themes are brought to attention worldwide. From Amsterdam to oceans far away: healthy canals, seas and oceans are important for a habitable planet. The week of June 8 to 14 is all about the World Ocean Days. Be surprised by everything that lives in water: from large whales to small fish in a real hotel. Learn more here.
