Events Happening This Weekend

Amsterdam Mamas Easter Event at WOW Rivierenbuurt

In collaboration with WOW Family Centre, Amsterdam Mamas is hosting a special Easter event on Saturday, 4 April, at their Rivierenbuurt location on Churchill-laan 86. These festive workshops are divided into two sessions (10:00–11:30 and 12:00–13:30) and offer a wonderful “Play with Art” experience combined with Toddler Sense activities, including a short music and movement session in the gym. Families can also enjoy free play time and a relaxing cup of coffee or tea in the Little Café, all for a special price of €15 per child.

Easter Brunch and Scavenger Hunt at De Ceuvel

On Easter Sunday, 5 April, Café De Ceuvel is hosting a celebration that combines a sustainable, indulgent brunch with plenty of action for the kids. While adults enjoy a relaxed meal, children can participate in an exciting scavenger hunt across the unique, circular grounds of this former shipyard. Your little ones can explore the winding paths and houseboats in search of Easter surprises. Hurry, as reservations are going quickly.

Easter Sunday Market at Westergas

In this month’s edition of the monthly Sunday Market at Westergas, the family-friendly market transforms into a festive Easter celebration from 12:00 to 18:00 on 5 April. This is a perfect outing for families to browse local crafts and fashion while the kids enjoy live music, face painting, and special egg-decorating workshops. The market is conveniently located at the Westerpark, making it easy to wander between the food stalls and the carousel and ensuring there is plenty of space for your kids to run around under the spring sunshine.

Easter at Willet-Holthuysen House

Throughout the holiday weekend from 4 to 6 April, the Willet-Holthuysen House invites families to discover a hidden gem in the heart of the canal district. Kids can participate in a traditional egg hunt in the grand 17th-century garden between 10:00 and 15:00, while the “Easter Studio” remains open until 17:00 for colouring and crafts. It is a wonderful way to combine a bit of local history with festive fun, and children can even win a small prize for finding the hidden eggs.

GRIMM: Hiphop meets Ballet

Looking slightly further ahead, the hit production GRIMM is returning to Amsterdam theatres this May and June, offering an imaginative mashup of the Brothers Grimm’s most famous fairy tales. This high-energy performance features a collaboration between the Junior Company of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet and the ISH Dance Collective, blending classical elegance with sharp popping and locking moves. Characters like Snow White, Cinderella, and the Seven Dwarves collide in a vibrant world of video projections and breathtaking choreography that appeals to all ages.

Nature Kids Camp at Terragon

Terragon Nature Lab is offering Spring Nature Camps for children aged 4–10 from 6 April to 1 May. Located at a private forest site in Oud-Osdorp, the programme features a mix of nature play, outdoor games, and seasonal crafts. The daily sessions run from 09:00 to 15:00 and are conducted in small groups with experienced supervision and a high counsellor-to-child ratio. Parents can also take advantage of the pick-up service from central locations or the on-site parking for drop-offs. Easter Ceramic Workshops at Heart & Soul Studio

Looking for a last-minute Friday night plan? Heart & Soul Studio has a dedicated “Easter Mug Workshop” where you can hand-build your own festive bunny-themed ceramics tomorrow, 3 April. This 2.5-hour session is a wonderful way to slow down and learn basic hand-building and pinching techniques to create something functional. All materials and firing are included so you can pick up your finished, glazed piece later, offering a mindful, therapeutic experience away from the noise of the weekend crowds.

Vintage Notes: Wine Tasting Concert at Oranjekerk

If you’re looking for a more cosy and sophisticated event, the Oranjekerk in the Pijp is hosting “Vintage Notes” on Sunday, 5 April, from 16:00 to 17:30. This unique sensory journey intersects live music and fine wine, where you will be guided through a selection of exclusive wines from France, Italy, Austria, and Argentina by a winologist who shares the stories behind each bottle. The experience features live performances set in a beautiful, historic church atmosphere that provides a calm escape from the holiday bustle.
