Family Fun at the Theatre in Amsterdam

In this episode, host Donna Bardsley is joined by Mark Winstanley of the Queen’s English Theatre Company in Amsterdam. They discuss the QETC and its upcoming comedy One Man, Two Guvnors. You can also hear an excerpt from One Man, Two Guvnors, with Mark and fellow actor Charlie May.

Mark Winstanley is the artistic director of the QETC. Originally from Northern England, he’s lived in Amsterdam for 20 years and has been acting since childhood. The QETC started as a living room production in 2002 and is now a non-profit involving more than 45 theatre-enthusiast volunteers providing quality English-language theatre to Amsterdam.

One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean, premiered in 2011 at the National Theatre in London and received the Evening Standard Theatre award for Best Play that year. Set in Brighton in 1963, it has the feel of a day at the beach and features hit songs from the 60’s and lots of laughs for all ages. Don’t miss it Mamas! The play will run Thursdays through Sundays from May 13th-29th, with matinees available.
