For the past twenty years I have been privileged to provide mental health counselling and psychotherapy to international clients and global nomads. I have lived and worked in the UK, Sweden and New Zealand. My experience of the joys and challenges of cross-cultural life are both personal and professional. While living in Sweden I enjoyed writing a regular mental health blog for Your Living City.
I am trained to work from an existential and psychodynamic perspective, which means that questions about meaning and purpose are just as valid as working through relationship issues, work challenges or generalized stress and depression symptoms. Further areas of expertise are infertility and miscarriage, childhood sexual trauma, grief counselling and attachment issues. By resolving the past in the present, you can move through to a more congruent future and restore your natural inner compass.
You are welcome to make an appointment in Amsterdam, Nederhorst den Berg and/or online. I only work with individuals and offer a free half hour 'getting to know you' session. In 2000 I obtained my diploma in counselling from the CSCT and in 2009 my Masters in Psychotherapy from UEL. My Dutch license to practise is underwritten by the Dutch Federation for Healthcare (NFG) which means that sessions might be reimbursed through the 'aanvullende verzekering' and/or international insurers.
