It’s all of this in one!

Two amazing separate spaces:

1) a café where parents can relax and enjoy our selection of amazing coffee+pastries and browse our curated selection of toys+publications. Children may of course enjoy a babyccino and play freely in this area with our rotating toys.

2) a play room/workshop room and theatre stage where children can attend an array of creative workshops from make+play to move+shake all hosted by a series of specialist teachers. This room also hosts theatre shows on special occasions and the best disco parties for kids in town!

Little Star Fitness – Mini Sport Stars (2-4 years)

The Mini Sport Stars class targets children between the ages of 2-4, introducing sport in a fun, supportive and non-competitive environment. This class assists in developing important skills such as hand-eye co-ordination, balance, concentration and strength. The fun environment of a small group gives them an intimate setting where the coach can help with their individual needs.

Class Structure: Every child will receive their very own Achievement Booklet which allows them to keep track of their progress and read all about their new skills developed through the term. Each term runs for approximately 10 weeks with a focus on four different sports throughout the term. Minimum joining time is 5 weeks (taken consecutively). At the end of every term the children who completed the entire term receive their very own Little Star Fitness medal.

Mini and Kinder Groovers – Little Star Fitness

Little Star Fitness – Mini Groovers Dance Class (2-4 years)

The Mini Groovers dance program is for children between the ages of 2.5 – 4. Throughout the 45 minute class, our Mini Groovers will be introduced to dance in a fun and educational way. Each session will be filled with free dancing, games, music and endless amounts of fun. Skills such as body co-ordination and expression, musical rhythm, relation time lapse-move, balance and concentration will be developed. Our Mini Groovers will explore the following dance styles throughout the term: Ballet, Jazz, African Dance, Latin and Freestyle Dance. Your children will love the fun created during the different activities we provide during this class. Upon finishing the term, achievement medals will be awarded to all the dancers.

Little Star Fitness – Kinder Groovers Dance Class (4-6 years)

The Kinder Groovers Dance Class is offered to children between 4-6 and takes our little groovers to the next level in their rhythm and dance development. This class is designed to help your child expand and develop their musical and dancing skills. During this 50 minute class our Kinder Groovers will learn Ballet, Jazz, Arabic and African Dance techniques in a fun and supportive environment, whilst focusing on their development of short and long term choreographies. This dance class will not only train their bodies but also enable our groovers to recall and retain their learnt knowledge in years to come. Upon finishing the term, achievement medals will be awarded to all the dancers.

Luistergoed Music

Luistergoed is a music center focused on providing high-quality musical orientation for babies and toddlers. Luistergoed aims to stimulate all areas of the developing child, but specifically her/his musical development in a playful and rich musical environment. Baby classes at 10:00, Toddlers’ at 11:00.

During the Luistergoed music class your child will receive informal guidance by listening, moving and experimenting with music instruments from all over the world and other beautiful materials, carefully chosen according to your child’s age and stage of development. Every child can participate, discover and enjoy at his or her own pace!

During the course, parents are given the opportunity to stimulate their creativity in a relaxing and inspiring way, so that they can later guide their children’s music learning process.

Individual music classes are available for children from 5 – 36 months, and children with special needs up to 4 years.

For parents, there is a Sound Healing/Meditation Sessions, called Sound Compass (see website for details)

Kidzartlab Sunday Morning Session

Children expand their creative genius through the world of art at the Kidzartlab. Through explorations of visual and tactile mediums, children develop self confidence in expression. Each lab session has a central theme, with three stations based on drawing, painting and sculpture. The three disciplines are also combined with each other. Parents explore and discover themes presented at each station with their child. They learn new techniques together that expand the creative vocabulary of possibilities. These ideas create richness and move past the session to expand creativity into other areas of both the child and parents life.

This group is for the age range of +/- 18 months – 5 years old. Exercises are age appropriate and inspire learning through play. Children have a creative adventure developing their motor skills. Left and right hemispheres are integrated through eagerly creating with both hands. Both Emotional and Social intelligence is fostered through individual and group interactions. All of the senses are activated in the lab and a deep knowledge of drawing, painting and sculpture leaves a lasting inspiration. This Sunday morning session is weekly from 10:00-11:00am.

Black Cat Theatre, located at Amsterdam Sloterdijk, is a special place with theatre shows specially developed for children from 1 to 6 years old. Imagination, creativity and fun describes Black Cat Theatre the best way. Everything in the theatre is designed to have a good time with your child; the foyer is spacious, safe, has a baby changing station, natural and clean toys, and a place where you can eat and drink something. The theatre room is professional, yet everything can be touched and experienced by the children after the show, including playing with the actress(es) / actor(s) on stage and the material used in the show. Easily reachable by public transportation. Free parking in the weekends and 10ct/hr on weekdays.

Amsterdam Kids Drama & Dance

We offer playful, creative and imaginative classes for children aged from 2 to 10 years old. Kids learn theatre and dance skills, develop confidence and have great fun!

For the youngest children our parent and child classes are a unique combination of dance, mime, songs, costumes and objects, which we use to explore a different theme each week.

For school age children our classes focus on developing basic theatre and movement skills and working together as a group. For the oldest kids this leads toward an informal performance at the end of the course, to which parents and friends are invited.

All classes are taught in English and are a great way to practice for those growing up with English as an additional language. We also regularly give drama workshops at various International Schools in the Netherlands.

Water Babies Amsterdam

In a nutshell, we teach water confidence and safety skills to babies and toddlers. However, we’re about so much more besides. Our classes are great for making new friends, helping to enhance the bonding process, having fun… and seeing the utter thrill of your little one gliding underwater towards you. Over the years we know our lessons were directly responsible for saving the lives of more than a dozen little ones who otherwise might have tragically drowned. We believe that all children should learn to swim from as early as possible. So that they can have fun, bond with their parents or carers and – should they ever fall in water – have the best possible chance of surviving. That makes us very proud.

Running, jumping, rolling, crawling, falling down and then ‘picking yourself up again’….Constant movement helps young kids discover the world around them. Toddlers (2&3) and pre-schoolers (4&5). Their minds are stirred and inspired; they are stimulated to develop physical capabilities and flourish. Free movement and simple tasks help children discover their bodies, the space they are in and their emotions, all that while increasing their language, musical abilities and coordination. Short exercises are created to help children express courage, fantasy, expression, creativity, concentration, teamwork, posture, and last but not least: to just have fun!
