MoveMe groups provide children (age 4-8) with a safe space to explore and express themselves using dance within a group setting. There is a balance between giving personal attention to each child and acknowledging who they are, and catering to the group as a whole. Children are invited to take initiative and share their stories as well as listening to others and being part of the group. They get to discover new ways of expressing themselves and interacting with others, using dance, movement, play, music, props and imagination. The groups include activities and exercises related to the following themes:
Can your body tell a story without words? Can we have a dancing dialogue?
Can you dance like an angry lion or move like an excited monkey? Does the way you move influence how you feel?
What is your personal dance? Can you allow yourself to be seen by others?
Do you know your personal space? When do you want to share it? In how many ways can your body say ‘no’?
MoveMe takes place over a number of weeks with a fixed group. In order to guarantee personal attention the group size is limited to 8. The classes take place in English with Dutch if needed. For more information: https://www.memotion.eu/moveme-groups
