Every year, about 140,000 children are admitted at the emergency department after they've had an accident at home, most of them being less than 4 years old. Half of their injuries are caused by a fall which can cause trauma to the head, wrists, or neck. Children can also get injured at school or in traffic.
In order to be able to provide the first aid to your baby/child or someone else's, come to this comprehensive course provided by the Red Cross. The full course includes 2 modules, an e-learning tool available in Dutch and English to be completed prior to October 19th, and this session scheduled on October 19th (bilingual Dutch-English).
This course will teach you the 4 steps of First Aid and help in case of:
- Resuscitation, including using an AED
- Stop of circulation
- Loss of consciousness
- Choking & drowning
- Surface wounds & burns
- Bone and joint injuries
- Neck & head injuries, concussion
- Carbon monoxide poisoning
- Finger caught in between the door
- Something sticking in the eye or stuck in the nose
- Tooth through lip injury, lost or broken tooth
- Fever and fever induced seizures
- Severe allergies
An official “Red Cross First Aid to Baby and Child” certificate will be awarded to you at the end of the “First Aid to Baby and Child” course.
This course comes at a price of 80€ which will all go to the Red Cross. Online module charged separately by the Red Cross (22.5€)
